This design is inspired by the Mau Movement and showcases Tupua Tamasese Lealofi III and other leaders at the heart of the non-violent movement against the colonial NZ Government. This led to Samoa claiming its rightful independence in 1962.

The legacy of our forefathers as well as all our elders involved in the Mau Movement confirms not only the passion we have as a people but also the immense strength there is in humility, resolution without war/violence and fighting for a just cause.

As NZ born Samoans, we created this design to pay homage to all our ancestors and when you wear this, make sure you wear it with pride and know that you carry our ancestors legacy with you.
